Brian
There are 4 drafts of posts just sitting in the back-end of this blog, waiting for me to finish them.
I just haven’t had a free moment. My son has given me much hilarious teenage fodder for this blog, but time has not been my friend in allowing me to complete my posts.
Just to give you an idea of what my life has been like, I leave you with these -

Could you say no to that face?
Thus he keeps me crazy busy.
Until next time -

Mom Rants and Raves

Sometimes in the dating world men have said some pretty
stupid odd things to me, so I thought I would come up with my short list of 10 things you should never say to a woman over 40.
Are you ready?
Here they are -
10. Is that your real hair color?
9. How old are you now?
8. Do you still look good naked?
7. Will you drive me to my meeting with my probation officer?
6. Will you cook us dinner rather than going out to dinner for your birthday?
5. I bet you were beautiful like her when you were young.
4. My mother is the best cook I have ever met. I still go to her house every Sunday.
3. Are you a grandmother yet?
2. You know if you had liposuction you’d be really hot.
1. Wanna be my fuc buddy?
I could do a one woman play on this stuff.
Until next time-

Mom Rants and Raves
Christmas wrapping paper, aging ornaments and a tree
The holidays are here for me
The halls are decked
Along with ex’s wishing to reconnect
Over the hill and through the woods come notes on my front door
And emails galore – instant message downpour
Not to mention cards and more
Maybe they are hoping to score?
Proof I can’t hide
But can remember not to have them inside

Brian and Mom
I stand waiting for Brian to finish football practice, watching him far across the fields, lost in a blur of white uniforms.
As the wind blows through my hair, I am caught by the sight of these kids enjoying this time – being kids. No car payments, no mortgage payments, no grocery bills, no relationship woes. Just video games, play, school and the like. Their bodies move with the lightness of being free, like blue jays after leftovers in the park.
Life is strange. I myself, take no time for play. I work and fight for a life I want for Brian and me, never satisfied, always pushing. My mother tells me that everything can change in a fleeting moment. I have been waiting for that moment for a long time now.
But there are times, like tonight, while watching Brian in his glory that I can accept that things are as they should be. For all my pushing in the world, sometimes we have to be like the willow tree and bend with the imposing wind. I am trying to be that willow tree – it’s not easy.
I watch Brian laugh then remind myself to bend just a little farther back and be patient.
Until next time-

Brian and Mom
If there was ever a place to be surrounded by men, it’s at my son’s nightly football practices. Men are everywhere. Who knew?
Another surprise – Brian is loving practice. There is a real comradely forming between all the boys. I hate to admit it, this is going to be very good for Brian. He seems to need the physical contact and I notice he is more at ease in his own skin.
Meanwhile I have to put on lipstick every time I go to practice to pick him up.
Until next time-
