“Hello, Mrs Hughes?”
“Yes?”
“This is Brian’s school nurse.”
“Yes?”
“Brian is in my office. We think he broke his hand.”
“I’ll be right there…”
After a quick drive breaking al speed laws, Brian is in the car.
“Mom?”
“Yes?”
“Since it is my writing hand that’s broken, can I get an excuse not to have to do work in school?”
“It’s just a knuckle Brian – not your brain.”
“Yeah well it’s the knuckle in my writing hand and THAT IS my hand!”
“Well I guess you can’t play video games either.”
(Sigh)
“I GUESS I can write with my three fingers.”
“That’s my boy … always thinking.”
“When I have to Mom.”
Until next time-

Oh poor Brian….give him a hug for me….the silver haired lady who absolutely adores you:) Hugs, Jackie
I like where his head is at. An operator, always working the angle, but wise enough to concede defeat and move forward.

Kids – always looking for an excuse! He’d have to break more than a knuckle to give up video games.
I hope he heals fast.
Yeah you should have seen how badass he thought he was going to school with a cast for a “boxer’s break”. There will be no living with him now…
