How I Made My Own Birthday Party

“Mom?”

“Yes?”

“Do you like having your birthday on the fourth of July?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“Because everywhere I go it’s a celebration in action and the day ends with fireworks.  It’s a great birthday.”

(silence)

“Do you like spending it with me?”

“Oh of course I do boobello.  What?  I didn’t mention the most important part of my birthday?”

“No.”

Well you didn’t ask ‘What is the most important part of your birthday?’ now did you…?”

“I guess not.”

(silence)

(silence)

(silence)

“Mom, what are you doing this year?”

“Besides flying to France?”

“Mom!”

“I am spending it with you silly.  All day – the whole day.”

(silence)

(silence)

“Will there be chocolate cake, ice cream and fireworks?”

“Yes.”

“Good, so you’re cooking.”

Until next time-
